Many countries globally have set target on achieving SDG7 that aims to "ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for al" by 2030. However, the last mile of electrification in South East Asia remains a challenge to fulfill 100% electrification.

This Webinar will constitute a teaser of the main seminar organised during the international conference "ASEAN Sustainable Energy week 2020"- Rural electrification: International experience and development in Thailand (25 September 2020)

The webinar will provide an overview of the electricity access challenge in the region and why this could be a market opportunity for Renewable private businesses in Thailand and in the region. It will also share lessons learned from financial, business models and solutions tried in different countries. Based on this market overview, the participants will be better equiped to participate in the ASEW webinar which will deepdive into the different technologies and pathways for rural electrification in Thailand and beyond.
